Join us for the Perth Premiere of Wild Horse Nine at Luna Leederville on Wednesday, October 28. Grab your partner in crime for a night of offbeat humour set on the shores of Easter Island. Embark on the hotel bar for a $12 Piscola, or maybe try something a little more Malkovich-mad with a Chilean Terremoto cocktail for $15. All while our RTRfm DJ sets the mood for a tropical 70's vacation.
In his newest, highly anticipated black comedy, Oscar-winning writer-director Martin McDonagh (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, The Banshees of Inisherin) trades the remote Irish island and small-town Missouri of his last two films for the tropical shores of Easter Island.
Shortly before the 1973 Chilean coup, CIA agents Chris (John Malkovich) and Lee (Sam Rockwell) are dispatched from Santiago to Easter Island by their bureau chief, MJ (Steve Buscemi). Amongst the Island's iconic statues, and as the longtime partners wrestle with their dark pasts and present conspiracies, Chris's newfound bond with a pair of rebellious students (Mariana di Girolamo and Ailín Salas) threatens to send everyone’s trip to this remote paradise sideways.
