This all-inclusive photography experience kicks off with continental-style breakfast, followed by a presentation by award-winning and nationally published local wildlife photographer Joe Desjardins. Joe will dive deep into how to capture stunning wildlife photography using Sony Alpha cameras and lenses, getting you geared up for your own exploration!
Following the presentation will be a burger bar lunch with beverages to get you fueld to take on the Wilder Institute's Calgary Zoo for yourself! Sony Canada will have a stunning array of camera bodies and lenses for an exclusive hands-on shooting experience through the Calgary Zoo, with Joe by your side. From desert mysteries to jungle adventures, from exotic Asia to raw Canada, you'll get the chance to photograph rich biodiversity from different landscapes and animals that will dazzle you!

For nearly three decades, Joe has been immersed in photography. He began his career as a studio photographer in Northern Ontario, Canada. Growing up in this remote area allowed him to learn his craft while exploring the outdoors, making wildlife and landscape photography a perfect fit.
Today, Joe works as a professional photographer from Calgary, Alberta, focusing mainly on wildlife and landscape photography.
Joe loves to share his knowledge and enthusiasm for photography with others through teaching, workshops and speaking engagements.
Joe is an award-winning and nationally published photographer who has earned multiple national accreditations in various disciplines, including equine, landscape, nature, wildlife and more.
Joe has also garnered the designation of Master Photographer (MPN) in Nature Photography with MPI, Master Photographers International.
Above all, Joe’s biggest passion is teaching and loves the enthusiasm his students bring to the classroom and the field.
