WIDOWSPEAK
Over the course of sixteen years, Widowspeak—led by core songwriting duo Molly Hamilton and Robert Earl Thomas—have quietly honed one of the most consistent and celebrated catalogs in the indie world. Rising from the fertile Brooklyn DIY scene, the band has weathered the highs and lows of a long career, balancing relentless international touring with the grounding routine of day jobs during the off-season.
Now, they return with their latest album, Roses, recorded during a quiet winter on the Greek island of Hydra alongside their long-time touring band. Roses captures Widowspeak at their absolute best: a warm, unpruned blend of dream pop, power pop, and languid, Lynchian roadhouse ballads that evoke the spirits of Yo La Tengo, Cat Power, and Neil Young. The core of their magic remains the captivating interplay between Hamilton’s textured, velvet vocals and Thomas’s visceral, raw guitar work.
Don't miss the chance to catch this incredibly hardworking band live in an intimate setting.
