Join us at Zealandia these school holidays for a free, nature inspired craft event delivered by local artists!Tayla Hartemink has designed a series of unique stamps featuring beautiful native manu, rākau, mokomoko, and ika, perfect for decorating cards, and printing fabric and clothing. The designs feature kupu Māori/Māori words, and are a fun, simple way for whānau to practice te reo Māori.
A limited amount of materials will be provided, but we encourage you to bring your own T-shirts, tote bags, tea towels, or other fabric items to personalise with these stunning designs.
Tayla Hartemink (Tūhoe) is a multi-media artist, illustrator and creative workshop facilitator based in Te-Whanganui-ā-Tara. Tayla’s work is rooted in a deep connection to whakapapa and indigenous storytelling. Her work incorporates graphic design, painting, print-making and traditional motifs. Through her artwork she hopes to inspire and empower people to connect with te ao Māori.
Suitable for all ages— drop in, get hands-on, and make something colourful to take home!

This event will be held on the 7th and 10th of October, 10am-3pm in the Zealandia Visitor Centre Foyer. Standard entry fees apply if entering the sanctuary. Members get free entry!
Overflow parking is available at Birdwood Carpark during the busy school holiday period.
