About this Event

Sip n Learn: Why You’re So Hard on Yourself

Why is your inner voice often the harshest one in the room?

Most people assume self-criticism is just part of their personality. Something to manage or push through. But what if it’s actually a learned pattern your brain and nervous system are reinforcing?

In this session, we look at the systems behind your inner dialogue — how self-talk forms, why it sticks, and how it shapes the way you think, feel, and act.

Drawing on neuroscience and psychology, this talk reframes self-kindness as something practical. Not surface-level self-care, but a process that supports emotional regulation, clearer thinking, and more consistent behaviour.

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of what’s driving your inner voice — and simple ways to shift it in real time.

This is part of the Mind Circles ‘Sip n Learn’ series — where evidence-based ideas are shared in a relaxed, social setting. No jargon. Just useful conversations that stay with you.

About the Speaker

Meral Alizada is a thought leader, systems thinker, and founder of Results of Kindness, a consultancy and think tank focused on building high-performing, human-centred environments through the systemisation of kindness.
