📚Lecture: Who Would You Rather Have Oversee Your Economy? Chef Keynes or Dr. Hayek
⏱️Time: Doors: 6pm Lecture: 7pm
🎤Speaker: Ademola Alayande (Economist, Consultant & University Instructor)
You've heard the arguments. “Government should do something.” “Government should stay out of it.”
For over a century, economists have argued over two radically different answers. One believed governments should step into the kitchen when things go wrong. The other believed we should let bad chefs face the consequences of their decisions.
Together, we'll revisit one of history's greatest intellectual rivalries, complete with biting insults, dramatic debates and ideas that continue to shape the choices governments make today.
If you received a COVID cheque, did the government give you free money, or simply send you the bill later? The answer depends on whether you believe Chef Keynes or Dr. Hayek should be in charge of the economy.
Ademola Alayande is an economist, consultant, and university instructor with a background in economics, econometrics, and public policy.
