Back for 2026; Whitstable’s iconic lantern lit parade.The day will begin in Whitstable’s harbour with performances on the stage (Dead Man’a corner) and lantern making in South Quay Shed, as well as all the wonderful market and shopping activities.
Our first Christmas tree (on the stage) will have a countdown to turning on the lights at 16:30.
From there, everyone is encouraged to parade, with battery lit lanterns (the more creative the better!) through town, lighting up the town as we go.
Expect snow, expect festive joy (and expect the roads through central Whitstable to be closed from 16:15-18:00).
We can’t wait for you to join us and make our town sparkle.
