About this Event
Hosted by Matt Chambers and Karen Taylor - co-founders of North London Whisky Club and the award-winning Whisky For Everyone website.
We will be entering the world of peaty and smoky whisky. It is the perfect way to celebrate the onset of Autumn as the temperatures drop and the nights pull in. We will take you through five whiskies that demonstrate many of the key factors that make smoky whiskies so unique in flavour and popular.
From the new wave of innovative distillers to the traditional smoky heartland of Islay in Scotland (and several stops in between), we will explore this expressive set of whiskies. Learn a bit of the history and information about each brand or distillery that you are tasting from your experienced hosts.
The tasting will take place at The Duke of St. Albans, a fabulous pub on the edge of Hampstead Heath, NW5. This is 15 minutes walk from both Archway and Kentish Town underground stations (Northern Line / High Barnet branch). Several local bus routes also stop nearby - 88, 214 and C11.
The tasting will last approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
Please feel free to arrive early - they have a great selection of craft beers, a delicious food menu and eclectic choice of wine and spirits.
No previous whisky knowledge needed, just enthusiasm and interest.
All guests are asked to Drink Responsibly.
Strictly over 18s only. Please bring ID if you are lucky enough to look close to that age.
