AT WHINING & WEEPING, WE MAKE ROOM FOR ALL OF LIFE'S BITTER FRUSTRATIONS — NO EYE-ROLLING ALLOWED.
Fed up with your boss? Tripped over a doorstep? Been through something traumatic? Unsure whether to stay with your partner? Bring it all.
In a spirit of solidarity, we invite you to anonymously vent about both the big and the small things in one of three categories:
Constructive – where the audience is invited to offer helpful advice.
Compassionate – where we simply listen and show our sympathy without trying to fix anything.
Unspoken – where your words remain unspoken.
The audience write down their grievances anonymously, and host Sofie Riise Nors reads them aloud to the group.
After we've worked through the Constructive complaints, we raise a toast together and say: "Take what works for you." For the Compassionate category, we toast and say: "We understand." Finally, we ceremonially shred all the notes and raise one last toast together: "Complain, release, catharsis."
There is no shortage of things to complain about — and here, we give those complaints the space they deserve.
Come vent, laugh, cry, raise a glass, and heal.
Sofie Riise Nors is an illustrator, author, graphic novelist, satirist, feminist, TV host, and public speaker.
The concept was developed by Sofie Riise Nors, Cecilie Nørgaard, and Mette Mut as part of Det Feministiske Værdefællesskab Over Broen (2021–2024).
This event is supported by Project Kompas, Alt. Femme and Et Fælles Frirum.
