About this Event
Whether you haven't touched ink before or you want to up your ink game and learn more skills, this workshop is for you! We will review the basics of ink painting and learn new techniques as they apply to painting pets, with a special emphasis on animal structure, fur/feathers texture and capturing personality. We will go through a number of demos and exercises to get acquainted with a range of techniques and tools, from traditional to expressive and experimental, and apply them to create your own mini-paintings. The workshop will balance precision with freedom of mark making and whimsical touches. We will also focus on developing your ability to take creative risks.
In this extended, full-day edition we will have more time to cover even more expressive techniques and to get more practice applying them to critters of your choice. It's going to be FUN!
For the second part of the workshop, you can either bring your own reference photos or use some of mine.
This workshop is for artists of all levels and no prior experience with ink is required.
