What keeps you alight through the quieter months? What deserves your care, your attention and the warmth of your commitment?Join us for the second gathering within Where the Rooks Gather, an exclusive collaboration between Rookery Retreat Cabin and Lizzie Salter | Alignment Mentor.
Together, we bring years of experience, creativity and personal exploration of Ogham, Celtic traditions and ancient pathways into an intimate evening of craft, connection and conjuring.
The Woman Who Kept the Fire draws us towards the hearth: a place of warmth, making, storytelling and the everyday work of tending a life.
Through a talk from Lizzie, we will explore household folklore, poetry and tales of fire keepers, reflecting on the knowledge passed between generations and the things we choose to keep alive in our own lives.
In a month often filled with demands to begin again, this gathering offers time to listen carefully to what needs your care before deciding what comes next.
During the evening, you will:
• Settle into a small, welcoming circle with time to connect.
• Listen to a talk weaving together hearth folklore, storytelling and poetry.
• Reflect on what sustains you, where your energy is going and what you wish to nurture.
• Create a clay candleholder impressed with a personal symbol, accompanied by your own handwritten hearth blessing.
• Close with a shared ritual to honour the intentions you are choosing to tend.
You will leave with a handmade ritual piece, clearer priorities for the months ahead and a simple practice to help you care for your own spark.

What is mine to keep alive and what helps keep me alight?
No previous craft experience or knowledge of these traditions is needed. Bring your curiosity and come as you are. Sharing is always an invitation, and your reflections can remain private.

All gatherings take place on Saturdays, 6–9pm, at Rookery Retreat Cabin. You are welcome to attend this evening on its own; you do not need to have joined the first workshop.
