About this Event
Come spend the evening with The Kijani Collective as we talk about what it takes for Black Portland to be climate ready and why our communal relationships matter in this work!
Over the past year, Kijani has continued developing Black-led climate solutions and advocating for a future where Black Portlanders can thrive.
We’ll share updates from that work, while celebrating how far Kijani has come. The evening will also give folks a chance to build community in a relaxed and joyful way, with food, music, and games helping make space for real connection.
This gathering will be a chance to meet others who care about our future and are doing their part to help build a more climate resilient Black Portland.
We invite current Kijani members and other familiar faces, as well as community members and partners who may be getting to know us for the first time.
Community is our strength AND our strategy.

"Climate resilience is our ability to prepare for and respond to climate emergencies, like extreme temperatures and unhealthy air quality. It starts with connection, and our ability to prepare for climate challenges grows stronger when we know one another, and understand how to show up for each other."
