Today, Chester’s Rows come to an end at the junction of Bridge Street and Grosvenor Street. But as most Cestrians know, they once continued all the way down to the river. So where did they go?
It’s a story with more twists than you might expect - involving a Chester church that was demolished not once but twice, the dramatic collapse of Old Lamb Row, and efforts to trace the original route of the Chester Mystery Plays through the city’s streets.
Join us to uncover the lost Rows of Chester and the forces that reshaped this historic corner of the city.
During the evening, we’d warmly encourage you to support our wonderful local businesses by picking up a drink from the bar.
This talk will begin at 6.30pm promptly - please arrive slightly before to allow time to buy refresments and find a seat.
