Join YSCS in Inverness for an evening of film, conversation and fresh perspectives on the future of seafood in Scotland.
About this Event

Hosted at Old Town Fish & Chips, this youth-focused* event will explore the issues shaping Scotland’s seafood industry and what a more sustainable future could look like.

We’ll be screening The Limit, a documentary film which features Bally Philp, a creel fisherman and the National Coordinator for the Scottish Creel Fishermen's Federation. In the documentary, he highlights the devastating impact that bottom-trawling and commercial scallop dredging have had on local marine life, seabeds, and coastal communities in Scotland.

The film will be followed by a Q&A discussion with Bally and an opportunity to learn, share ideas and discuss the challenges and opportunities surrounding sustainable seafood. There will also be some yummy seafood provided by Old Town Fish & Chips and everyone will leave with a free seafood-themed print produced by YSCS member Xiangru Wang!

Whether you're passiomnate about the ocean, interested in where your food comes from, or simply curious to learn more, this is a chance to connect with other young people in the local area, ask questions and be part of the conversation.
*We define youth as anyone under the age of 26. If you're under the age of 16, we will require a parent or guardian to be present.
