Trio Paradis (Jacquelyn Bevan - piano, Ruth O’Shea - violin & Linda Stocks - cello) play a Café Concert on the first Friday lunchtime of each month at 12.30pm at St John’s Church, Midsomer Norton: a 45-minute concert of mainly classical music, introduced by the performers. There is a pop-up café from midday where you can meet friends for a chat before the concert. ‘What’s in a Name?’ explores the theme of names from two angles: individuals who have inspired particular pieces of music, with musical portraits of Sylvia, Margaret, Susan, Jennifer and Mr Belloc; and composers with amusing or unfortunate names - works by Gelinek, Schytte and others...
There’s no need to book, though an RSVP via our website www.trioparadis.com is appreciated. Turn up early to be sure of a table, as these concerts are popular… Trio Paradis Cafe Concerts are 'pay-what-you-feel' via a retiring collection, to keep live music affordable for everyone.
