Love your neighbor. Welcome the stranger. Heal the land. What happens when people of faith intentionally go to the places where pain and suffering congregate, not to judge, but to create a space for love, dignity, hope, and community?
That is the heart of Whatcom Revival.
Isaiah 58 calls us beyond simply practicing our faith for ourselves. It calls us to care for the hungry, the hurting, and the oppressed, and to honor the Sabbath by “not going your own way.” (Isaiah 58:13)
On Saturday, October 31, we’re gathering at Maritime Heritage Park to do exactly that. We’re bringing the Revival into the heart of our community and creating a welcoming space where everyone belongs.
Join Micah Johnson and Joel Johnson for an afternoon of community, faith, fellowship, and a family sing-along featuring memorable songs including “Joyful, Joyful” from Sister Act 2, “Father, Can You Hear Me” from Tyler Perry’s Diary of a Mad Black Woman, “Blessed & Highly Favored,” made popular by The Clark Sisters, and much more.
You don’t have to belong to a particular church or denomination. Whatcom Revival is Christian-rooted and interfaith in invitation. Come as you are and join your neighbors as we create a space of joy and hope in a place where our community's pain is often most visible.
Love your neighbor. Welcome the stranger. Heal the land.
