What We Carry, What We InheritAn Introduction to Family & Systemic Constellations
How much of our story began before we were born?
We are all part of something bigger than ourselves. Our families, ancestors, communities and the lands we come from shape who we are, how we relate and where we feel we belong.
But what about the patterns, loyalties and expectations passed down through generations?
What do we carry from those who came before us? What gifts have we inherited? And what might not be ours to carry?
Join Katie Despres in collaboration with Life 2020 for an experiential afternoon introducing Family & Systemic Constellations.
This approach invites us to look beyond the individual and explore the wider family and ancestral systems to which we belong.
Developed by Bert Hellinger, influenced by Western therapeutic approaches and his experiences living and working among the Zulu people of South Africa, constellation work explores belonging, relationships, unconscious loyalties and patterns across generations.
What to expect
Through simple, interactive group exercises, we'll explore:
-Our place within our family and wider systems.
-Belonging, inclusion and intergenerational connections.
-How unconscious loyalties and inherited patterns may influence our relationships and choices.
-What becomes possible when we look at familiar situations from a different perspective.
This is an introduction to the methodology and principles of Family Constellations, rather than a full individual constellation workshop.
You won't be asked to share your personal story, and participation in exercises is always optional.
No previous experience needed. Everyone is welcome.
