You are invited to Celebrate Black Panthers Party 60th Anniversary with lifetime Panther Ericka Huggins (Writer, Activist, Organizer) and her son Jelal Huyler (Poet, Activist, Artist) at the 11 AM Service in the Sanctuary; hear Ericka preach and Jelal share Spoken Word Poetry.
12:30 PM - 3:00 PM: Also, join us in intimate conversation about “What We Carry Forward: The Black Panther Party at 60!” directly after service in Freedom Hall. Ericka & Jelal will offer a unique mother/son perspective on the movement now & where we need to go protecting Civil Rights, African American Equity, and the victories, challenges, and joys of raising a son in the Black Panther Party. This discussion will be moderated by Min. Freddy Martin and we will have light foods and beverages!
