About this Event
Mental Health Month is held each October, with World Mental Health Day recognised internationally on 10 October. To mark the occasion, the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences is hosting a panel discussion on the future of mental health care in Australia.
Mental health reform has been a major focus over the past decade, yet many people still find the system difficult to navigate and struggle to access the support they need.
Join Professor Nick Haslam, Professor Sarah Wilson, Professor Lisa Phillips and Dr Catherine Brasier for a conversation about what is working, what still needs to change, and what a more accessible, effective and person-centred mental health system could look like by 2035.
Bringing together perspectives from research, lived experience and the mental health sector, the panel will explore the challenges and opportunities shaping mental health care over the next decade.
Whether you've used mental health services yourself, supported a friend or family member, work in the sector, or simply have an interest in mental health, this event offers an opportunity to hear from leading voices and take part in an important conversation.
Following the panel, guests are invited to stay for light refreshments and the opportunity to connect with colleagues, students, researchers, and members of the broader community.
