In a world of rampant greed, materialism, and rugged individualism, it can seem as if everything is for sale. Including our very own humanity and integrity. We are oversaturated with information every day and meaningful things, those that matter most, can easily get washed over.
Please join us as we hold space for community, art making, and conversation about those things we each hold sacred.
In partnership with Fall of Freedom, a national call to creative resistance.
With the guidance of Community Art Center Lead Artist and Teen Public Art manager, Pheebz Warner, participants will create their own pocket shrines to honor those things they hold most sacred.
Using small cardboard boxes, each participant will examine and interrogate what it is they hold dear. Their concept could include: a loved one, a practice, an object, an identity, a principle, or a fundamental truth.
These pocket shrines fo home with the participants as a reminder they can carry with them.
When the day washes over their why, they can reflect on their pocket shrine and remember.
