About this Event
COMPUTALA Digital Arts Festival brings together artists, technologists, makers, researchers and curious people to look at the digital and creative technology work being made in Leicester and the East Midlands. The region has a strong and often overlooked scene, and this is a day to see it in one place.
We also aim to connect that work to similar communities across the UK. Alongside local practitioners, we’re inviting guests from other creative tech hubs to share what they’re doing, how they organise, and what they’ve learned.
What’s on
- Talks from artists, developers, designers and researchers working with code, hardware, sound, image and data
- Workshops where you can try tools and techniques hands-on, with no prior experience needed for most sessions
- Demos of new and in-progress work, with the people who made it on hand to talk about it
- Performances that use technology live, from audiovisual sets to interactive and generative work
- Announcing line up soon.
Who it’s for
Anyone interested in where art and technology meet. That includes practising artists and creative technologists, students, educators, people working in the digital and tech industries, and anyone who wants to see what’s happening locally.
