About this Event
Most business owners know their business inside out.
They know how the work gets done, which customers matter, who they rely on and what needs to happen to keep things moving.
But what happens when something changes unexpectedly?
It starts with a phone call.
Something has happened that could prevent you from delivering what you've promised.
A customer is waiting. Your team needs direction. A supplier can't help. Costs are starting to rise.
You know there's a problem, but you don't yet know where it's going to lead.
What do you do first?
This 60-minute interactive workshop puts 10–15 local business owners and leaders into a realistic business situation and lets the story unfold.
There is no long presentation, no compliance checklist and no "perfect" answer.
Instead, you'll work through the situation together, making decisions as new information emerges.
You'll consider:
- What needs protecting first?
- Which customers and commitments matter most?
- How long can the business absorb the disruption?
- What could be changed, delayed or delivered differently?
- Who needs to make the difficult decisions?
- What should you tell your staff, customers and suppliers?
- What does your business depend on that you might not have considered?
The interesting part?
Different businesses will see different problems.
They'll make different decisions, prioritise different things and spot opportunities that others might miss.
That's the point.
The value comes from hearing how other local business owners approach the same situation — and discovering what they see that you don't.
You'll leave with one question worth asking inside your own business and one practical action you can take straight away.
And then we keep the conversation going...
Following the workshop, we'll have 30 minutes of informal conversation and networking.
Not networking for the sake of collecting business cards.
An opportunity to compare experiences, continue the discussion and hear how other local businesses make decisions when things don't go to plan.
Because most of the time, the chain of people, promises and relationships that keeps your business moving works perfectly well.
Until one link disappears.
