A look ahead to the future of the UK’s economic relationship with our European neighbours
About this Event

Join us for a talk with renowned economist and former Vice-Chancellor of Sussex University, Professor Alasdair Smith. In the weeks after the much anticipated UK-EU summit on 20 November, Professor Smith will be asking: ‘What are the economic options for rebuilding the UK’s relationship with the EU?’.

In the second half of the evening, there will be a Q&A session with a chance for audience members to ask questions and discuss key issues.

Professor Smith is an international trade economist, with special interests in the economics of European trade and integration. He has held numerous public roles including chair of the Armed Forces Pay Review Body, chair of the Universities and Colleges Employers Association, deputy chair of the Competition Commission, and is currently a member of the Competition Appeal Tribunal.

The event will be held in the wood-panelled and carpeted Council Chamber at Lewes Town Hall, BN7 2QS on Tuesday 1 December. Doors open 7.00 with the event starting promptly at 7.30. Tickets £7.00 + booking fee with proceeds to a local charity.
