WEST COAST SWING — BEGINNING–INTERMEDIATE COURSE

We will skip Sunday, November 29th, in observance of Thanksgiving.
COST
$119 per person — 8 weeks
$238 for 2 students/couple — 8 weeks
CLASS LEVEL: BEGINNING → INTERMEDIATE
This 8-week group class is designed to start at the beginning level and gradually build toward an intermediate level.
We’ll begin with the fundamentals and progressively add more steps, patterns, technique, connection, and styling as the weeks go on.
No partner is required! We regularly rotate partners throughout the class, giving everyone the opportunity to dance with different people.
👞👠 SHOES & CLOTHING
Wear clothing that is comfortable and suitable for dancing and moving.
Please bring a clean, dry change of shoes that have not been worn outside to help protect the dance floor.
If you don't have dance shoes yet, dress shoes are a good option. Typical tennis shoes are not recommended because they can stick to the dance floor and make it difficult to pivot and turn.
WHAT IS WEST COAST SWING?
West Coast Swing is a partner dance with roots in Lindy Hop. It is characterized by an elastic look created through its extension-and-compression connection and is typically danced within a slotted area on the floor.
One of the unique features of West Coast Swing is its emphasis on improvisation. Both partners can improvise their movements while maintaining connection and dancing together, allowing the dance to look different every time.
