Always wanted to try West Coast Swing? This weekend intensive with Memduh & Paulina will give you the essentials and the confidence to join your first social dances!
No partner needed – come on your own or bring a friend. We rotate partners during the classes, so everyone gets to dance.
🟢 SATURDAY 24 OCTOBER – Beginners & Solid Basics
10:00–13:15 (two 90-minute blocks with a short break)
For complete beginners and for dancers who want to strengthen their foundations.
- Basic connection & rhythm (triple steps & anchor)
- Side Passes & Underarm Pass
- Sugar Push fundamentals
- Introduction to the Whip
- Social dancing with confidence
🔵 SUNDAY 25 OCTOBER – Intermediate
10:30–13:45 (two 90-minute blocks with a short break)
For dancers who already know the basics (Side Pass, Sugar Push, Whip).
- Connection: stretch, compression & leverage
- Whip variations
- Left Side Pass variations
- Musicality: syncopations & anchor variations
- Styling for leaders & followers
- Combinations for social dancing

Memduh (Norway)
A true dance pioneer, Memduh played a key role in introducing Lindy Hop and Boogie Woogie to Norway during the 1980s. In the early 1990s, he studied West Coast Swing directly with the legendary Buddy Schwimmer in the United States.
Together with his former dance partner, he dominated the Norwegian Swing and Boogie Woogie scene, winning the Norwegian Championship for 10 consecutive years.
Today, alongside West Coast Swing, Memduh also teaches Argentine Tango, Salsa, Bachata, Lindy Hop and Boogie Woogie, bringing decades of experience and a deep understanding of partner dancing.
Pauliina (Finland) Pauliina is an experienced Finnish West Coast Swing assistant. She assists with instruction and fosters a welcoming atmosphere, helping dancers build self-confidence, improve connection, and enjoy social dancing from the very first lesson
