About this Event
Please note: This concert has undergone a change in programming.
Due to an upcoming dental procedure, trumpeter John Reynolds will unfortunately be unable to perform as originally scheduled. In his place, Sanctuary Studio owner, vocalist, and trumpeter Simon Drew will lead the quintet in a special evening celebrating the unmistakable sound of West Coast jazz.
The program will retain its original theme, with a renewed focus on the lyrical, sophisticated music of artists like Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan, Dave Brubeck, and Paul Desmond. With a particular emphasis on Baker’s celebrated trumpet playing and intimate vocal interpretations, the quintet will bring to life the cool, melodic spirit of 1950s California jazz.
Please note that the originally scheduled 6:30pm and 8:30pm performances have been combined into one concert at 7pm.
