We’re currently looking to organize a cemetery landscape cleanup and documentation day at West Cemetery in Meriden, Connecticut in October 2026.
We’re calling on anyone who wants to be part of something meaningful.
The goal for this initial effort is simple but impactful:
• Light landscaping and edging along pathways and plots
• Trash and debris removal throughout the grounds
• General cleanup to restore visibility and respect to the space
• A structured photo documentation session to capture current conditions
This won’t just be a cleanup — it’s the beginning of a larger effort to bring attention back to a historic and often overlooked resting place.
Silent Grounds Collective exists to preserve, document, and respectfully restore cemeteries and historic sites. Our work focuses on:
• Cemetery restoration and preservation initiatives
• Digital archiving through photography and documentation
• Research into forgotten histories and burial records
• Community-driven cleanup and awareness projects
We believe every person laid to rest deserves dignity, and every cemetery deserves to be seen, remembered, and maintained.
This project at West Cemetery is part of a broader vision to eventually restore the grounds through phased improvements — but it starts with boots on the ground, small tools, and people who care.
If you’re interested in volunteering, collaborating, or even just showing up to help for a few hours, we want to hear from you.
Let’s bring this place back into the light — together.
