Wesley Gonzalez comes to The Betsy Trottwood to perform old and new material on nylon string guitar accompanied by Pianist Callum Duffy and Double Bassist Gwen Reed.
Gonzalez first became known with the band Let's Wrestle, releasing 3 critically acclaimed records and touring international before embarking on a solo career. the three solo albums released since have been varied in style and process but throughout his career Wesley has focused on melodic songwriting underpinned by lyrics exploring mental health, addiction, depravity and the underlying feeling that everyone you meet will think you are scum. Gaining praise from the music press and great support from BBC 6Music's Riley & Coe and Lauren Laverne as well as tours and shows supporting the likes of BC Camplight, Warmduscher, Young Knives Mozart Estate and Jessica Pratt.
support comes from special guest Dilettante a recent northern exile to London, Dilettante is an art-rock collective led by multi-instrumentalist Francesca Pidgeon and is based in Northern England. Primarily a guitarist and singer but, owing to a lack of social skills, she taught herself clarinet, saxophone, piano, bass and trumpet and bought a loop pedal in an attempt to avoid human contact
