🧵 FROM THE INSIDE OUT – Join us for the exhibition opening!
Why do individual faculties have their own colours? How has the style of professors and students at Jagiellonian University changed over the centuries? What secrets of university life are hidden beneath the lining?
We invite you to “From the Inside Out: The Dress of Professors and Students at Jagiellonian University Through the Centuries”, an exhibition revealing a less obvious side of academic life – the history of clothing, appearance and customs. 🎓
We will open academic trunks, wardrobes and drawers to explore not only gowns, birettas and student caps, but also the fashion preferences of academics of the past. University history is not only about scholarship, but also about people, their personal style and their desire to express themselves.
The opening reception will be an opportunity to discuss the significance and symbolism of academic dress, as well as to ask questions directly to the exhibition’s curators, Joanna Sławińska and Łukasz Pieróg.
