Help us celebrate the release of Judge A Book By Its Cover: Romance Edition, an interactive card game centering around all things Romance. Created by Milwaukee local Abby Watters and hosted by The Well Red Damsel.
Judge A Book By Its Cover is an interactive, improvisational card game where players devise stories from themed cards.
- Classic Play: Create the back-of-the-book description using trope, element, and cover cards to pitch to your editor. The author with the best pitch wins the round and keeps the cover card!
- 'A Light Read': Looking to create more than the back of the book? Play 'A Light Read' either solo or as a group to create an on-going story with the element cards. The storylines are endless!
- Creative Writing Tool: Stuck on a story? Feeling bogged down by writer’s' block? Use the element and trope cards as prompts to get the juices flowing.
Whether you’re a casual reader or an experienced storyteller, Judge A Book By Its Cover can be enjoyed by anyone.

Ticket includes a preorder copy of game. Ticket not required to attend.

Please note that tickets are non-refundable. If you purchase your ticket and are unable to attend the event, you can reach out to [email protected] to arrange pick up of your game. No exceptions.

This event does take place on the second floor of the bar, and there is not an elevator. Please let us know if you would like to attend and are not able to get up to the 2nd floor, and we will reserve a space on the main floor for guests as well.
