About this Event
Think of The Weird Weekend party as a dress rehearsal for Halloween proper the following Saturday! A chance (if needed) to leave the kids at home and enjoy the occasion as adults.
Featuring the following … every one worth the price of admission on its own:
- A spooky spoken-word performance by goodnighttheskye
- Quiz Cupboard LIVE! A special seasonal, literary edition of the popular quirky podcast quiz (20 questions in four fun rounds)
- Halloween treats (we’re adults, so to hell with our teeth!)
- Prize for best dressed (seriously spooky or simply suave)
- Dancing!
This party aims to raise funds for The Writers Workshop, which receives ZERO grant funding for hosting up to 30 events every month that share the joy and power of creative writing. How do they do it, I hear you cry! Well, largely unpaid right now.
So, if you support what we’re doing, there’ll be a no-pressure option to buy a supporter ticket (ZERO booking fee), and on the night there’ll be a reyt-good raffle (cash only … we got no card readers), and maybe some more stuff that we hadn’t thought of when we wrote this.
If you are attending solo, we can introduce you to other solos! We are a friendly community, so you won't be quizzing or dancing alone ... unless you like it that way!
