If you are curious about the benefits of meditation and would like to integrate it into your daily life, this series offers a practical and accessible introduction to essential meditation techniques.
Together, we will explore topics such as the nature of the mind, consciousness, motivation, posture, and key aspects of Buddhist philosophy—providing a strong foundation for beginners as well as those wishing to deepen their practice.
Lamrim meditation offers a clear, step‑by‑step approach to training the mind. Through gradual and carefully ordered contemplations practiced over time, it integrates understanding with meditation, allowing insight to be steadily internalized and applied in daily life.
Morning sessions will focus on Shamatha meditation, a foundational practice that cultivates calm abiding and familiarity with one’s own mind. Developing this inner calm is essential for navigating daily life with greater ease and awareness. Participants will receive gentle guidance on settling the mind, abiding in stillness, and nurturing inner peace.
Afternoon sessions will be guided meditations on core Lamrim topics, drawing inspiration from Illuminating the Path to Enlightenment by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
This series continues across three weekends to complete the topics presented in Illuminating the Path to Enlightenment:
May 30 & 31 — Chapters 5 & 6
Meditation topics: karma, refuge, samsara, and nirvana
September 12 & 13 — Chapters 7, 8 & 9
Meditation topics: bodhicitta, compassion, and the path of the bodhisattva
November 21 & 28 — Chapter 10
Meditation topics: dependent origination and emptiness
Each session combines insightful teachings with practical meditation exercises and concludes with a Q&A period to address participants’ questions. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the transformative power of meditation!
