Your week needs Wednesday! 🙌Wednesday Night Live is back beginning Wednesday, September 2, with dinner, Bible studies, music, kids + student programming, and plenty of opportunities to connect.
Whether you’re coming straight from work, bringing the whole family, looking for a new Bible study, or just need a midweek reset, there’s a place for you on Wednesday nights at St. James.
🍽️ WEDNESDAY NIGHT DINNER | 5:00–6:00 PM | Jones Hall
Dinner first. Then the fun!
Gather around the table with your St. James family before Wednesday Night Live activities begin. It’s an easy way to take dinner off your plate (literally), catch up with friends, meet someone new, and settle into the evening.

📖 ADULT BIBLE STUDIES | 6:00 PM
-Practicing the Way
Led by Rev. Ben Crismon
What does it really mean to follow Jesus—not simply to believe in Him, but to shape our everyday lives around His teachings and practices? Using John Mark Comer’s *Practicing the Way*, this group will explore how we can intentionally become more like Jesus in the way we live.
-The Portal: A Study of Romans
Led by Rev. Walt Garrett | In Person + Zoom
Take a deeper look at Paul’s letter to the Romans and its message of grace, faith, transformation, and the good news of Jesus. This hybrid group provides an opportunity to dig into Scripture together and explore what it means to live faithfully in response.
-From Babylon to New Beginnings
Led by Rev. Dennis Spence
Explore Israel’s story after exile through Ezra, Nehemiah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi, and Esther. It’s a story of rebuilding, renewed identity, faithfulness, and hope as God’s people begin again.
🎶 CHANCEL CHOIR | 6:00 PM | Choir Room T103
Love to sing? Our Chancel Choir rehearses Wednesday evenings and helps lead worship in our Classic services each Sunday. New singers are welcome!
🌱 SPROUTS | Infants–PreK4 | 6:00–7:00 PM
Faith begins here.
Our youngest children have a safe, caring place of their own on Wednesday nights, with age-appropriate opportunities to experience God’s love while parents participate in other Wednesday Night Live activities.
🎨 A.M.P.: ART, MUSIC & PLAY | Grades K–2 | 6:00–7:00 PM | Mountaintop
Faith is discovered here.
A.M.P. lets younger elementary kids explore their faith through creativity, music, movement, play, Bible stories, and activities designed especially for them.
This fall, A.M.P. will explore Identity: Who God Says I Am, helping kids discover who they are, whose they are, and how their identity in Christ shapes the way they live.
⛰️ SUMMIT | Grades 3–5 | 6:00–7:00 PM | Mountaintop
Faith becomes your own here.
Designed especially for older elementary students, Summit gives kids room to ask bigger questions, dig deeper into Scripture, build friendships, and begin taking ownership of their faith.
Summit will also explore **Identity: Who God Says I Am** this fall as students discover what it means to know and follow God for themselves.
🔥 ENCOUNTER | Grades 6–12 | 6:00–7:30 PM | Christian Life Center
Faith is lived out here.
Wednesday nights give Middle and High School students a chance to step away from the week, connect with friends, and grow deeper in their faith.
Encounter includes worship, games, Middle School + High School small groups, conversation, encouragement, and plenty of time just to be together. Worship is led by Modern Worship leader Trenton Teegarden, often alongside St. James students, before students break into age-specific groups where they can talk honestly about faith and life.
Come for dinner. Stay for a class. Bring the kids. Join the choir. Meet some new people.
However you spend your Wednesday, we think you’ll discover the same thing:
