For January out book club will be reading and discussing Grandma Gatewood's Walk: The Inspiring Story of the Woman Who Saved the Appalachian Trail by Ben Montgomery. Though she had reached the age of 67 in 1955, Emma (Grandma) Gatewood, mother of 11 and grandmother of 23, first hiked the Appalachian Trail solo at the age of 67 in 1955, and went on to become the first person to do it three times!
