About this Event
Join us as we have some fun with circuits and stitches!
This introductory workshop will introduce you to the basics of wearable technology for fashion and textiles.
You’ll create your own fashion-tech swatch using fabric, conductive thread, and simple electronic components.
Your swatch will demonstrate how sewing and electronics can work together, giving you a hands-on foundation for creating your own electronic textiles, and garments that can light up, move, vibrate, and more.
No prior experience with electronics or wearable technology is required.
Wearable Technology Skills Covered:
- Basic circuit building
- Conductive thread and textile-based connections
- Integrating LEDs and simple electronic components
- Basic sewing techniques for wearable technology
- Designing technology for wearability and comfort
Through hands-on experimentation, you’ll explore how fashion, textiles, and technology can come together to create interactive and functional designs.
No prior experience or specialized equipment is required. Materials and equipment will be provided, and beginners are welcome.
Minimum of 6 registrants required for workshop to run.
