___________
WHEN HARRY MET SALLY
Harry Burns and Sally Albright first meet while sharing a long drive from Chicago to New York, where a conversation about whether men and women can ever really be friends leaves them firmly at odds. Over the next twelve years their paths continue to cross, and what begins as mutual irritation slowly develops into a close friendship — one complicated by changing relationships, missed opportunities and the possibility that they might mean more to one another than either is willing to admit.
Rob Reiner’s When Harry Met Sally helped define the modern romantic comedy. Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan have effortless chemistry, while Nora Ephron’s razor-sharp screenplay finds as much humour in friendship, loneliness and growing older as it does in falling in love. Funny, honest and wonderfully romantic without ever becoming overly sentimental, it remains one of the genre’s absolute greats.
