ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES
Returning to England after escaping imprisonment during the Crusades, Robin of Locksley discovers his home destroyed, his father murdered and the country in the grip of the ruthless Sheriff of Nottingham. Forced into hiding in Sherwood Forest, Robin joins a band of outlaws and begins a rebellion against the Sheriff’s rule, becoming a hero to the oppressed and a thorn in the side of Nottingham’s increasingly unhinged plans.
Packed with sword fights, romance, adventure and one of cinema’s most gloriously scene-stealing villains, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is everything a big-screen adventure should be. Kevin Costner leads an unforgettable cast that includes Morgan Freeman, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Alan Rickman, whose deliciously over-the-top Sheriff threatens to steal the entire film. Add Michael Kamen’s sweeping score and that Bryan Adams song, and it all adds up to a gloriously entertaining slice of ’90s blockbuster cinema.
