’s Super Deluxe Allstar Band – A Celebration of the Allmans, the Dead, The Band, Little Feat & 70s Funk/Soul at Volcanic Theatre in Bend on Saturday, November 7th. For this special tour, leader “Brother Gabe” Johnson has assembled a unique super-group of truly world-class players: Drummer/Singer Cliff Porter (Jamcruise AALx2, Joe Marcinek Dead Funk, Jelly Bread), legendary singer/guitarist Pete Kartsounes, keyboardist Brian “Swiz” Swislow (Object Heavy) and bassist Mark Karwan (Jenner Fox, Quattlebaum). Blending deep grooves, soaring improvisation, rich vocal harmonies, and a healthy dose of funk, this all-star lineup delivers timeless songs with heart, soul, and a spirit all its own. Watkins Glen has never been interested in being a band of copycats. The goal is to honor this legendary music while pushing it into fresh territory, creating the kind of spontaneous magic that can only happen when great songs meet great musicians in the moment.
