Behind the Walls: The Nuckolls Legacy at Watertower Place

Saturday, Nov. 21 | Tours at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. | 90 minutes

Step inside one of Pueblo’s remarkable industrial landmarks as Gregory Howell leads a tour of Watertower Place, the former Nuckolls Packing Co. Explore the historic meatpacking plant’s major production areas and learn how its revolutionary design transformed meat processing and helped establish Pueblo as an important center of industry in the American West.

Designed in 1915 by innovative industrial architect Hans Peter Henschien, the building is also the setting for a preview of the new second-floor museum, currently under development. The museum celebrates three generations of the Nuckolls family and their extraordinary contributions to Pueblo’s economic and cultural history.

Discover stories of industrial innovation, historic preservation and adaptive reuse—and the people and possibilities that continue to shape Watertower Place. Two tours. One extraordinary Pueblo landmark.
