As Salt in Her Lungs continues its journey across the country, Glenda Macatangay brings the Salty Tour to New York for an intimate evening of reflection, connection, and healing.
For decades, Yaya Porras and Glenda Macatangay have each been weaving art, organizing, advocacy, and healing in their own communities. Though they had long known of one another’s medicine, it was their shared commitment to bringing voice to stories, breaking cultures of silence, and honoring the strength of their ancestral lineages that brought them into deeper collaboration.
Having each walked through profound grief, transformation, and remembering, they offer a space shaped by lived experience, compassionate listening, and deep trust in the wisdom of the body, the land, our ancestors, and one another.
Rooted in the Filipino healing traditions of Hilot and Tawas, alongside the Indigenous and Mexican traditions of Limpias practiced across Indigenous communities and throughout Latin America, they gather in kinship—each honoring their own lineage while creating a shared space for reflection, ritual, healing, and remembrance.
Join us for an intimate two-hour evening to release what has become heavy, reconnect with your body and spirit, and remember the wisdom carried within your own lineage. Through ceremony, storytelling, guided reflection, energy clearing, and community, we make room for clarity, connection, and renewal.
