Water Has Her Way With Us - 🧜🏼♀️🎧🎤Water Has Her Way With Us is an artist launch and live performance evening centred around the release of Emina Ashman’s new spoken-word and ambient poetry track of the same name.
Held on Valentine’s Eve, the night invites warmth, artistry, and connection. At the heart of the evening is an immersive listening experience of Water Has Her Way With Us, an intimate poetic sound immersion that explores sensuality and relationship through the embodied language of water.
The evening contours around spoken word, music, art, and movement. Performance elements by collaborating artists anchor and guide the night, opening into dance toward the later part of the evening. A blue lily tea ceremony will also be shared during the night, should you wish to partake.
Light refreshments will be available and provided by Natty Rozen from Soulfood Graze, alongside offerings from a small selection of local vendors.
The night acts as a coral reef of creative currents, where expression, connection, and creative exchange flow between beautiful beings, reshaping one another as they meet.
This event is held in a relaxed, invitational way. Attendees are welcome to sit, move, or simply witness what is presented as the night unfolds.

🪸 About the Artist 🪸
Emina Ashman is an Australian-Southeast Asian poetess and performer in Naarm/Melbourne, exploring how love undulates through body, sound, and the sensuous beauty of life. Her creative practice flows through embodied poetry, spoken word, performance art, and theatre - drawing on mermaid consciousness and the language of water.
Trained at the Victorian College of the Arts, she has performed in professional and independent art spaces such as Melbourne Theatre Company, La Mama Theatre, and Next Wave Festival.
Inspired by romanticising life, she offers poetry not only as artform, but as a relational way of being. Her art is a channel for compassion, courage and creativity
