The Washington Band of Annville is performing a concert for a cause to benefit the Lebanon Rescue Mission.The free concert is Sunday, Sept. 27 at 3 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Lebanon. A free will offering will be taken for the Lebanon Rescue Mission.
“The Lebanon Rescue Mission provides safe shelter, meals and compassionate care for men, women, seniors and veterans experiencing homelessness in our community,” said Cari Daub, the director of development at the Lebanon Rescue Mission. “For more than 80 years, we have been a place of refuge, walking alongside each person with individualized case management, medical care, education, life skills and a path forward to lasting life-change. As the need of our community grows, we are expanding our Agape Safe Haven to serve more women with children and seniors experiencing homelessness. Guided by our faith, we are committed to offering a place to find dignity, hope and a path forward for every guest.”
The concert is made possible by a grant from the Francis J. Dixon Foundation. The foundation’s purpose is to improve the quality of life for citizens in need in Lebanon County. Its charitable donations are primarily directed toward healthcare and educational projects.
The Washington Band of Annville is made up of about 50 volunteer band members ranging in age from high school students to seasoned players in their 80s. The band is under the direction of Mike Yeagley and rehearses in a historic 90-year-old building in Annville.
The Church of the Good Shepherd is located at 1500 Quentin Road, Lebanon.
