Nunchucks Monday. Swords Tuesday.Blue Valley schools are out for Thanksgiving break, and Ko Martial Arts South Overland Park is turning Monday, November 23 into Nunchuck Day: a full day of foam nunchuck training, martial arts games and fun for children in kindergarten and up.
Never done martial arts? This day was made for your child. Camp is open to every child in the community, and every camp brings KOMA students and first timers together. Your child does not need to know a single move. Our instructors start every camper at the very first step, how to bow, how to stand and how to hold the nunchucks safely, and build from there one step at a time. Nobody is left behind, and nobody sits out.
Wondering about safety? Every nunchuck is foam, and we provide all the equipment. Before anyone swings, your child learns the rules of the training floor: wait for the command, respect the space around you and set your equipment down with care. Every warrior starts with self control, and that is the part that comes home with them.
The day also brings martial arts games, arts and crafts, lunch with new friends and a special treat, instead of a day at home on screens. At pickup, you will hear one specific moment from your child's day.
No membership and no uniform needed. Just send your child in clothes they can move in, with a lunch and a drink.
Kindergarten and up. 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
75 for the day, 65 for each additional sibling. Stay until 4:00 PM with the Afternoon Add On for 15 more.
Tuesday, November 24 is Sword Day. Come for one day or both.
