When faced with the apocalypse, who will stand by your side? In the far future of the 41st Millennium, rivalries and alliances ebb and flow amongst the chaos. On this day, in a dark corner of the galaxy, desperate alliances are made to ensure survival. Who do YOU stand with? The Warhammer 40k Doubles event will be a 2v2 Team tournament. Each team will be composed of 2 players and each player will bring a separate 1,000 point army following all the Matched play restrictions for building a 1,000 point force. There are no requirements that the factions of each player on the team match, you can join any combination you wish. Orks and Space Marines? Chaos Daemons and Necrons? What your team wants to do.
Each 1,000 point army counts as its own force. No army traits, strategems, unit abilities, or any other effects belonging to one player may affect their teammates force. Each player will have their own pool of Command Points as if they are playing a 1,000 point game.
The mission structure for the tournament will use the Matched Play mission deck as per usual. Each team will select a single disposition for the team from all the options from both player’s detachments. This will determine the Primary mission and deployment as per usual. Secondaries will be done as a single team as if the team was one player. That means that each team will draw only 2 secondary missions each turn and can complete them with their combined forces as if they were one player.
Each team will take their turns together and will share an overall score for both Primary and Secondary points. Prizing for tournament placing will be paid out to each team. Prize support for Best Painted army and the extra store credit for having a painted army will be paid out to each individual player that qualifies.
