War of the Worlds brings one of the most infamous nights in broadcast history to life in a thrilling radio-play experience. When Orson Welles’s 1938 adaptation of H.G. Wells’s alien invasion story aired, it sparked real-life panic across the country as listeners believed the events were unfolding in real time. Now set a decade later, this production follows the WBFR radio ensemble as they recreate that legendary broadcast—complete with live sound effects, vintage commercials, and the electrifying energy of live radio theater. Blending suspense, history, and theatrical ingenuity, War of the Worlds is both a gripping sci-fi story and a fascinating look at the power of media.
Step into the golden age of radio and experience the broadcast that made history.
