About this Event
Thank you for your participation and support of the Walk to the Blocks Meet.
This event is held in honor of former CIY Barracuda Eddie Halloran, who was paralyzed in a swimming accident in the summer of 2001. All proceeds from the event go directly toward helping Eddie with medical expenses and other related needs.
Our mission is also to raise awareness about pool and waterfront safety and the importance of making safe choices around the water. Accidents can happen quickly, and taking a few extra precautions can help prevent serious injuries, including spinal cord injuries. Please stay alert, use caution, know the water before you enter, and make safety a priority whenever you’re enjoying pools, lakes, rivers, or other waterfronts.
Eddie’s story is a powerful reminder that one moment can change a life forever. By promoting water safety and awareness, we hope to help prevent other families from experiencing a similar tragedy.
Best of luck to all the swimmers—swim fast, have fun, and enjoy the meet!
Thank you again for helping make this event meaningful and successful.
We’re also offering event T-shirts and a 50/50 cash raffle. Your generosity and support truly make a difference.
