Walk this easy walk on asphalt pathways, sidewalks, streets and country roads. Loop 1 will take you into the Sherwood countryside and Loop 2 will walk into historic Old Town Sherwood. The walk passes the Sherwood Heritage Center and Museum where you can see the oldest house in downtown Sherwood, and if the museum is open (Wed. & Sat 10-4), you can see a display about the Atfalati Indians, who roamed the Sherwood area long before the first white men came in the 1840's.
Driving Directions:
Portland I-5 SB, or Salem I-5 NB, take Tualatin Exit 289. Southbound turns right and northbound turns left. Veer left at the "Y" to Tualatin-Sherwood Rd. Travel 5.3 miles to Pacific Hwy. 99W. Left on Pacific Hwy. to stoplight at Sunset. Left on Sunset and left onto Woodhaven to WMCA driveway on left.
From Pacific Hwy. 99W, YMCA is about halfway between Newberg & Sherwood at Sunset Blvd.
