Living with chronic lung disease can feel challenging, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.Join WakeMed’s American Lung Association Better Breathers Club, a monthly support group for individuals living with chronic lung conditions such as COPD, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis and lung cancer, as well as their family members and caregivers.
Led by an American Lung Association-trained facilitator, each meeting provides an opportunity to connect with others who understand what you’re experiencing, learn helpful strategies and gain support and encouragement.
Topics may include:
• How respiratory disease affects the lungs
• Breathing techniques
• Exercise and staying active
• Talking with your physician
• Medications and treatment options
• Medical tests
• Supplemental oxygen
