Wabi-Sabi: Works by Zoey PassmoreFirst Friday Opening Reception
Friday, October 2 | 5–8 PM
Zootown Arts Community Center | 216 W Main St
Join us at the ZACC this First Friday for the opening of Wabi-Sabi, an exhibition by 14-year-old, self-taught artist Zoey Passmore.
Wabi-sabi is a Japanese idea centered around finding beauty in imperfection, simplicity, and the natural process of change. It’s about appreciating things as they are rather than trying to make them perfect.
Zoey works primarily in painting, while also experimenting with sewing, sculpture, jewelry, and pencil art. Her work is inspired by the life and nature around her, as well as the emotions and experiences that come with growing and creating.
“I chose imperfection as a theme because, as a beginner artist, striving for perfection in art can feel impossible. I think imperfections are part of what makes art and people unique. Instead of trying to make everything perfect, I want to appreciate the process and the things that make each piece different.” — Zoey Passmore
Come celebrate Zoey’s work, meet the artist, and spend First Friday with us at the ZACC!
