YAY! It’s happening!!Valley of the Nerds is partnering with KAFM Community Radio to bring free improv practice gatherings to the KAFM Radio Room!
This is not a class, and no one needs to arrive knowing what they’re doing. It’s simply a fun, low-pressure space where we can practice thinking on our feet, creating characters, building scenes, telling stories together, and figuring out what happens when someone throws a completely unexpected idea into the mix.
Whether you’re a dungeon master whose players regularly abandon every carefully prepared plan, a storyteller, performer, roleplayer, or simply someone who wants to become more confident thinking quickly, you are welcome to come play with us.
You are also completely welcome to come and watch! There is no pressure to participate, get onstage, or perform in front of anyone. Come hang out, laugh with us, and decide for yourself whether you want to jump into something.
📅 Thursday, November 5
⏰ 6:30–7:30 p.m.
📍 KAFM Radio Room 1310 Ute Avenue, Grand Junction
🎟️ Free to attend
🎭 Ages 16+
🔁 Continuing every other Thursday
No previous improv or theater experience is needed. We will experiment with different games, spontaneous scenes, character conversations, collaborative storytelling, audience suggestions, and whatever other wonderfully ridiculous ideas develop as we go.
While we are not aiming for adult content, improv is spontaneous and may occasionally include strong language or mature themes. Attendees ages 16–17 will need permission from a parent or guardian.
We are incredibly excited to partner with KAFM and use their amazing Radio Room to give our community another place to practice, create, meet people, and try something new.
Come play, come watch, or just come see what happens.
